It’s National Flip Flop Day!

I bet you didn’t know that it’s National Flip Flop day did you? While researching about why today is called “National Flip Flop Day”, I found out something really cool. It’s not only a fun holiday, but it was created to help kids with life-threatening illnesses, and their families to be able to go to a special camp for relaxation and for fun, which is called Camp Sunshine.

Flip flops are pretty standard shoes for people in the South! We are fortunate enough to be able to wear them in the winter too! The name Flip Flop is even a fun name, which is exactly what Camp Sunshine is for, to be able to go for relaxing, having fun and to get away from the stress of the children’s illnesses. It was originally started by Tropical Smoothie in 1984 for it’s national charity partner, Camp Sunshine.

Have a great weekend! ~ Jelene
