Should Men wear man-gagement rings?

mens1engagementSince it’s engagement season, I was thinking about the history of the engagement ring, from one of my last blog’s post and wondered about men’s engagement rings. The tradition has always been in a marriage proposal, that the guy gives the girl an engagement ring, but what about the guys?

According to this article by Vicky Howard, the idea of “man-gagement” rings failed to catch on in the 1950s, and has since never caught on.

“While women usually rock an engagement ring, a new survey shows 5% of men are also wearing them before the wedding. With more jewelers targeting grooms, will “man-gagement” rings become the norm?” [Source: Huffington Post]

Yes, of course couples exchange rings during the wedding ceremony, but if you are a guy reading this, would you also wear an engagement ring? Post your comments below!
